P>North Carolina State University has found a new technology to improve the quality of LED luminous material via the drop-down of 2 to 3 magnitude defects in GaN thin film. It is introduced by researchers that such reflective sheeting china can create two times more output light energy with the same amount of electric energy. In the view of LED with low-energy input and UV rays luminous range, such increase would be remarkable.
LED luminous material mainly relies on GaN thin film's LED gadgets. The researchers embed the half thickness of 2nm-GaN thin film into space by 2nm wide and 0.5nm gap. Through such experience, many flaws have been attracted and then to be trapped into the gap. Such gap reduces many flaws in the gap space. Therefore, they successfully avoid the flaw spreading to other position of thin film by effectively adding some gaps. Without such gap technology, each square centimeter of GaN would be with around 1010 flaws. However, with the application of such technology will reduce the flaw on each square centimeter by 107 or so. That will produce LED with higher quality and more efficiency.
In 1968, HP Company had produced red LED light with wave length of 660nm. After that, yellow-green, blue and pure green for monitor were released to the market. But, the manufacturing technology for high luminous blue and pure green semi-conductor chip is still controlled by rare companies in Japan, US. The manufacturing price is a little bit expensive.
So far, the new luminous material technology has been applied for monitor. There are several forms of LED luminous material for monitor as follows:
1 LED luminous light (or single light)
It is composed of single LED chip, reflector, metal anode, and cathode metal. The outer part is with epoxy resin shell to penetrate and gather the light. Single or several lights in different color can form a basic pixel. Based on the high-level shininess, it can be used for outdoor monitor.
2 LED matrix module
It is composed of several chips to form lighting matrix. It is sealed in plastic shell by epoxy resin. It is suitable for line scanning driver and easily to form high-density monitor.reflective sheeting manufacturers is mainly used for outdoor monitor.
3 SMD LED light
It is the sealing package of wielding for LED lights. It can be used for indoor full-color monitor to fulfill single-point maintenance and effectively prevent mosaic phenomena of monitor screen.
